Weekend Fun

This past weekend Ryan and I traveled to Waco for our friends' Ross and Tonya's wedding. Ryan was an usher in the wedding, so we were able to spend two nights with some good friends. The wedding was very beautiful, and it was great to catch up with some of our friends that we don't see as often as we used to (with the exception of Josh & Megan!!). I stole the photos from the wedding from Catherine's blog site...her pictures were MUCH better than any that I took!!

While we were enjoying wedding fun, Aiden spent the weekend with Grandmommy and Grandad. It sounds like he had a great time swimming, going to see the movie "Up," visiting the zoo, and helping Grandad in the yard with his bubble mower!

OK, so on the baby girl name front, we are still struggling. Unfortunately, Sadie is definitely out. I have caught WAY too much flack for it being a "pet name," which I can get over, but Ryan can not! Lucy is still in the mix, but we are putting Avery, Amelia, and Lilian (Lily) in as well. I've always liked Avery (it was a choice for a girl name with Aiden) and I also like Amelia. The only thinkg with Amelia is that I like Amy for a YOUNGEST daughter (b/c of Little Women). Now, I realize that I am crazy to think that I would end up with 2 girls, but we do want a 3rd child someday...if it were a girl, I know I would kick myself for not saving Amy for the youngest. Am I overthinking this? Absolutely!! Does that prevent me from overthinking it? Nope!!! SO, I changed up the voting yet again...indulge me once again...it probably won't be the last time!

It's official...(well, 90% anyway!)

Thursday I had my second ultrasound at my doctor's appointment. The ultrasound tech did this one in a much fancier room, and had a hard time with our modest child as well. The baby is still sitting breech, and the legs were crossed with a foot right in "that area." The technician shook my belly and had me move around, but those legs were not stretching out!! (I can attest that they do on occasion though, as it already feels like someone is jumping on my bladder at times!). Although she refused to uncross her legs, which Ryan thinks is a great quality for a daughter, her mouth was moving NONSTOP! It was pretty comical to watch! Anyhow, about halfway through, she said, "I'm almost positive what you're having, but I want to get a good picture for you." She finally said she had seen three dots seen in girls and no "rounding" or boy parts, so she was 90% sure it was a girl. According to our doctor afterwards, this lady doesn't predict unless she's pretty positive. So, after two "girl" predictions, I am pretty comfortable with beginning to shop and plan for decorating the nursery. Luckily our doctor is really great, and said he'll do yet another ultrasound at my next appointment July 1.

In the mean time, I am planning on swtiching beds around with my mom sometime this month so that Aiden will have a trundle bed for his room, and we can put his bed back in "crib mode" and move it into the nursery. I've picked out some bedding I like, and ordered fabric samples to make sure before I pick out paint and assign painting duties to Ryan. The bedding I like is Glenna Jean's "Chloe," and it is very pretty and feminine with pink roses, ruffles, etc.

I haven't posted any recent pictures in a while, so here are some that we've taken recently:

What Happened???

OK, OK...I have been a very bad blogger for the past couple of months, but it really is a busy time of the year with school wrapping up, graduations, etc.! I am actually blogging from work this afternoon (shhhh....), so I don't have any new pictures to post. I will work on that from home some time this week!

So, in Cosser news, we have found that we have a 70% chance of having a little girl in October...70% you ask? Well, we sweet-talked our doctor into doing an ultrasound at 17 1/2 weeks, so he gave himself 30% wiggle-room since it was a bit early. However, it was not JUST the absence of a little something that prompted him to predict a girl (meaning he saw girl indicators as well as the absence of boy ones!). We will have another one done on Thursday, which is halfway through the 20th week and should be more definitive. As Ryan said, he should have gone ahead and told me 100% girl b/c I have been VERY excited! Not that I don't love boys, but girls are a rare commodity in both my and Ryan's families, so this is a sort of monumental thing! Of course, I have been thinking of names, but I have scratched all of the girl names from my original survey. I guess I really didn't think I would have the chance to think of girl's names, so I didn't put too much thought into it. We have narrowed it down to 2 names now...Sadie and Lucy. Sadie was my original pick, but after receiving much harassment from Ryan and his family over a former pet named Sadie, I am swaying a bit. Then, last night I found out that my great-grandmother (whose name was Luvenia-not a favorite of mine) went by Lucy. My dad and grandmother have always told lots of adoring stories about this woman, and my Paw-Paw once told me that I reminded him of her because we both had the same fire in our eyes! I asked Ryan if he liked the name too, and he said "it's better than Sadie," so....that name is on the table now as well! I changed my poll on the right to reflect the 2 new choices, so please help with our perspective and vote again!! Of course, if something has "popped up" in our ultrasound Thursday, I'll be changing that poll yet again to reflect boy's names!!

Other than OUR baby news, I also recently found out that I am going to be an aunt again! Ryan's brother's wife Elizabeth is expecting a baby in January! It will be fun to go through pregnancy with Elizabeth since when we were expecting the boys, they lived in Florida. Our new baby and their's will be about 3 months apart and in the same grade at school, just 3 years behind their older brothers. Our get-togethers are about to get more exciting! I also found out that my good friend Rebecca is expecting right at the same time as Elizabeth. This will be her first, although she has technically had the baby bug since I met her when we were 18! I am very happy for her and her husband Cory.

Now, in addition to baby news in general, we have been busy going to graduations and getting ready for summer. Two weekends ago we went to Austin to watch my youngest brother John David graduate from UT Law School. I am so proud of him, and know that he will do amazing things to make our world a better place! He and his fiance Stephanie will stay in Austin until January when he will begin working at a firm in Dallas. Until then, he will be busy studying and passing (I'm sure!) the Texas Bar Exam. We had another graduation this past weekend in Dallas. This graduate was my cousin Michael, who was not only the valedictorian and gave an amazing speech, but is Harvard-bound in August. I am obviously proud of him as well. This weekend we will tackle our 3rd and final graduation in Arlington for my cousin Judson graduating from Martin High School. Judson will be heading to SFA in the fall, and I know he will do fantastic!

I have one more week of work to go, and then Aiden and I will begin our summer fun! Aiden is signed up to take 2 weeks of swimming lessons in June, Kindermusik once a week, plus our visits to toddler story-time at the library, the Children's Museum, and The Bounce of course! We will also be heading to Florida for two weeks in July to visit Ryan's family. We are planning a 2-night visit to Orlando & Disney World, visits to the Tampa Zoo and Tampa Aquarium, and a ride on a pirate ship cruise! Plus, hanging out at the beach and lounging/fishing on their new dock too! I can't wait for our vacation to begin...it has been a VERY long year, which I have mistaken for lasting 2 years more than once recently!

Again, I am going to try to get back into a blogging routine, and I will add pictures from all of our busy events this month sometime while at home this week! Look for another update on the ultrasound Thursday or Friday!
